# Setup Segment-based Engagement Rules

You can configure engagement rules with contact lists, audience segments and individual contacts or based on conditions. There are 3 engagement rules –

* [#set-up-fan-maturity-factcubes](#set-up-fan-maturity-factcubes "mention")

To configure these, perform the following steps:

1. Click the settings icon.
2. Click on *Rules Setup*.
3. Click on *Engagement Rules*.&#x20;

## Set up DND

DND (Do Not Disturb) engagement rules refer to settings that control how and when a brand can chose to limit communications with specific contact lists, audiences, or individual contacts. These rules ensure compliance with regulations, respect customer preferences, and prevent over-messaging, which can lead to unsubscribes or complaints.

#### Steps for Email configuration

1. Click *Configuration* on the *DND* card.
2. Click *Configure* on the *Email* card.
3. Select from *Audience*, *List* or *Individual Contact* that you want to mark as a DND for email campaigns.
4. Click *Save*.

#### Steps for SMS configuration

1. Click *Configure* on the *SMS* card.
2. Select from *Audience*, *List* or *Individual Contact* that you want to mark as a DND for SMS campaigns.
3. Click *Save*.

## Set Up Abandoned Cart (Timeout)

Setting up an abandoned cart allows you to define a time frame after which a cart is considered abandoned if the items in it are not purchased.

Steps:

1. Click *Configuration* on the *Abandoned Cart* card.
2. Set the timeout period. By default it is set to 3 hours.
3. Click *Save*.

## Set Up Fan Maturity / Factcubes

Factcubes is an advanced analytics tool providing dashboards and reports to track marketing performance, with deeper insights available in FactCube Premium.

Fan Maturity Model refers to tracking and analyzing a fan’s interactions across different channels, such as ticket purchases, merchandise buys, and more. It’s a flexible model that categorizes fans based on their activity level and engagement.<br>
