# Manage Contact Lists
Uploading contacts to a list allows you to group them into a static list, which can later be used to run your campaigns effectively.
To create a List with the Marketing Engine, perform the following steps:
1. Click *Segments*.
2. Click *Contacts*.
3. Click *Create List*.
4. Enter a *List Name* and List Description (optional).
5. Click *Save*.
6. Your newly created contact list will appear under the **Contact List tab**.
7. Here are the actions you can perform on your contact list.
