WhatsApp Carousel Template

Carousel templates let you send a single text message along with up to 10 carousel cards in a horizontally scrollable format. Each card must include a media header (image or video), body text, and can have up to two buttons—these can be quick reply, contact number, URL buttons, or a combination of these.

How to Create a Carousel Template:

1. Log in to the Marketing Engine

2. Navigate to Templates → WhatsApp Templates

   

3. Click on “Create Template” button and Choose WhatsApp sender, enter template name, select Pre-Approved from the template type drop down.

4. Choose Carousel from the Header dropdown & enter message body.

   
5. Enter the carousel card details:

• Card body (up to 160 characters)

• Media upload (supports images and videos only)

• Buttons (add up to 2 buttons—Quick Reply, URL, or Contact Number)

You can create a maximum of 10 carousel cards.

Button & CTA Limitations:

• Button text: Up to 25 characters

• CTA URL: Up to 2,000 characters

• CTA phone number: Up to 20 characters

1. After filling in all the template details, click Save. The template will be saved as a draft.

2. Click Submit for Approval to send it for review.

3. Once approved, the template can be used in journeys to send messages.

   

Limitations:

• Media type & button type (Quick Reply, Contact Number, or URL) must be the same across all cards.

• Only images and videos are supported in carousel cards.

• Carousels are only available in Pre-Approved template types.
