# WhatsApp Carousel Template

**Carousel templates** let you send a single text message along with up to **10 carousel cards** in a horizontally scrollable format. Each card must include a **media header** (image or video), **body text**, and can have up to **two buttons**—these can be **quick reply, contact number, URL buttons, or a combination** of these.

### **How to Create a Carousel Template:**

1. Log in to **the Marketing Engine**

2. Navigate to **Templates → WhatsApp Templates**

3. Click on “**Create Template**” button and Choose WhatsApp sender, enter template name, select Pre-Approved from the template type drop down.

4. Choose **Carousel** from the **Header** dropdown & enter message body.&#x20;

5. Enter the carousel card details:

* **Card body** (up to **160 characters**)
* **Media upload** (supports **images and videos only**)
* **Buttons** (add up to **2 buttons**—Quick Reply, URL, or Contact Number)

You can create a maximum of **10 carousel cards**.

#### **Button & CTA Limitations:**

* **Button text:** Up to **25 characters**
* **CTA URL:** Up to **2,000 characters**
* **CTA phone number:** Up to **20 characters**

6. After filling in all the template details, click **Save**. The template will be saved as a **draft**.
7. Click **Submit for Approval** to send it for review.
8. Once approved, the template can be used in **journeys** to send messages.&#x20;

#### **Limitations:**

* **Media type & button type** (Quick Reply, Contact Number, or URL) must be the same across all cards.
* Only **images and videos** are supported in carousel cards.
* Carousels are only available in **Pre-Approved** template types.
